Blast From the Past

Y’all!!! I was recently cleaning out an old blog I started back in 2006 that I forgot I even still had access to (thanks email!) and came across this post from 2008! I thought, just for old times’ sake I would share it, so it is forever saved as a memory from my time in the music industry and of being on a bus 5-6 days a week. Which I loved, by the way! Enjoy!

Over the course of my time in Nashville, I’ve had quite a few people ask what a day “on the road” is like for me… here you go!

It’s in the middle of a tour, so life isn’t always this crazy but during a tour it’s wide open all the time! (2008) My sister had emergency surgery on Easter Sunday, so I went to NC to be with her for 2 days and stayed at the hospital, then returned home the Tuesday after Easter. I left Wednesday night (as in the next day!) for the first weekend of our 32 city tour, which was in McMurray, PA. (outside Pittsburgh) We went from there to Nitro, W. VA (home of Kathy Mattea, the country singer), Binghamton, and Poughkeepsie, NY then had an off day in Cleveland, Ohio where we shopped ALL DAY! We ended our first weekend of the tour w/a show in Cincinatti, Ohio. We arrived home this morning, and we leave again tonight for another week. The kids were both up this morning @ 5:15 am, so I’ve been going since then as well. Good times, good times! We recently did a show at Arkansas State University. Sugarland performed the night before us. Pretty cool. I’ll be blogging tomm from Jacksonville, Fla! We’ve also done shows in Charleston SC, Charlotte, NC, Arkansas, Ga, and Vero Beach. We’ll get home Monday afternoon, then leave again Wednesday night. I’ve seen so many wonderful places, and eaten WAY too much yummy food, but it’s been such fun! Everyone keeps asking what’s new in my life, and I laugh and say, nothing – I’m not in town long enough for anything interesting to happen! My home life consists of laundry, unpacking, and repacking. On the road again. Bye for now!
