Savannah/Hilton Head

This past summer, my mom, sister, niece and I had a little girls trip together, to Savannah and Hilton Head. These places were magical to my sister and me as kids and we were eager to visit again as it had been years since we’d last been together.

We packed in as much sun, fun, food and laughs as we could and we did not stop! From ice cream, cocktails, shopping and pictures at nearly every stop along the adorable cobble stone streets in Savannah to the blazing hot sun, bicycles and tree covered grounds of Hilton Head, we were in heaven. There is also something special about seeing anything fun through a child’s eyes, and with my niece being almost four at the time we visited she was FULL of laughs.

We always check out Leopold’s for the BEST ice cream when we are in Savannah, even though the lines are often long, and for dinner, The Pirate’s House cannot be overlooked. After a delicious dinner, save time to walk around the beautiful cobble stones streets near the water, or the equally beautiful restaurants, hotels and shops on the “street level”. After you drive a quick forty five minutes you have left behind the scenes in Savannah for the upscale beach island of Hilton Head. Of course, if you’ve never been to the Salty Dog Cafe you must stop by for a place I feel sure Jimmy Buffett may stop in. It’s laid back, casual atmosphere begs you to stay a while and kick back. One must also make sure to check out the Sandbar Beach Eats for the BEST (and biggest plate of) nachos I think I’ve ever had, and the Seafood Salad. Talk about the largest salad ever and full of delicious crab! It was my favorite stop of the trip, but an honorable mention has to be Poseidon (go early, like before 5pm for the best happy hour FOOD! They have great drink specials too but some of the food can only be ordered from the rooftop section and during happy hour. It was the best!) and then walk around Shelter Cove. If you go on a Tuesday you can catch some awesome fireworks! I could try and give more thoughts and “must see’s” but we really spent every single day on the beach! (Definitely check out Pool Bar Jim’s for the best food and drinks while on the beach!) We loved walking around everywhere and capturing some sweet memories on photos. Can’t wait to go back!
